The mission of Appalachian Heritage Writers Symposium is to enhance pride in Appalachian literature and culture. This mission encourages not only an appreciation of our region’s history and literature but an understanding of the need to provide current and future generations of Appalachian writers the tools to preserve that culture in poetry, fiction, plays, and other genres.
