Somewhere Even Better

America is known as the land of the free,

But I have somewhere even better waiting on me.

America is a place where I can worship and pray,

But I will meet my Savior face to face someday.

I live in a house made of bricks and wood,

A material place where so many have stood.

But I will someday own a mansion in a city of gold

And find expanses of joy that on earth are untold.

Nowhere on this earth can a place be found

That even compares to the city where I am bound.

In this life our hope lies in the break of another dawn,

But thank God that in Heaven hope will go on and on.
